I often tell people that I barely even pray on Mondays. Mondays often tend to be reflective and recuperation days for me, so more than likely my blog entries will appear on Wednesdays.
As John said, I am in South Dakota and Wyoming. I played in Dallas Thursday around noon and headed on out this way. I got to Gillette Wyoming Saturday where I played Sunday morning and then went to Rapid City, South Dakota where I played last night. Don't worry I'm Blogcasting this trip and you can get more details from those when they post.
I am thrilled with the interaction this website has produced. It really does make me feel more connected and I'm excited about not only the good Christian fun that we can share, but also the spiritual insights and musings that we can offer one another.
I have been in the Dakota's several times. God has allowed me to build relationships with some wonderful people in this area, some of which are allowing me to stay in their home this week. I am fascinated by the ministries up here. The work here is still very pioneer in many ways, but I have been amazed over the last 8 years how much things have grown and changed. The Dakota Baptist State Office has worked hard at thinking "outside of the box" and you can see how God is working in the Dakota's.
One of the times I was here was shortly after the Dakota Baptists had decided to purchase a motorcycle to GIVE away at the sturgis bike rally. They had Christians from all of the state come and train on giving their testimony in 3 minutes. They would tell people that they could sign up for the FREE bike drawing if they would allow them to share in three means what God has done for them. They say that the Sturgis Bike Rally is basically the Mardi Gras of South Dakota.
Every year somewhere between 250,000 and 500,00 bikers come to Sturgis for the bike rally. Last year over 4,000 people came into the tent to hear someone share their testimony of which, 870 prayed to accept Christ as their Savior. If you want to be a part of this awesome opportunity click this www.sturgisbikerally.com and find out more about it. It will be held in August. If nothing else mark your calendar and pray for Dakota Baptists during this time.
God is blessing my time here so far. Pray for me this week and particularly this weekend and then my drive home. Also, go to "Car Chat" on my blog page and find out how you can be a guest on my Blogcast.
In His Grip!
